Anna Gomez was born and raised in the city of Makati, Philippines before she met and married her best friend who whisked her away to Chicago over twenty years ago. You may recognise Anna as she has been on our show twice before. She came on alongside actor and author Kristoffer Polaha. They wrote a book series together and we talked about the difficulties and joys of doing so.
Anna is a full time career woman who thought she could write a book about her life (The Light in the Wound, Christine Brae 2013) and then run away as far as possible from it. She never imagined that her words would touch the hearts of so many women with the same story to tell. Since then, Anna has released six more books under her pen name, Christine Brae.

In December 2019, her agent convinced her to write one more book. Different model, different subject matter. Clean, contemporary, happy endings. Reluctantly, she decided to give it a try. This time, under her real name, Anna Gomez.

When not listening to the voices in her head or spending late nights at the office, Anna can be seen shopping for shoes and purses, running a half marathon or spending time with her husband and three children in Chicago.

Anna is represented by Italia Gandolfo of Gandolfo Helin Literary Management, and is published by the Vesuvian Media Group.

Her latest novel is MY GOODBYE GIRL:
“A heart-wrenching tale of two people destined to be together. Simon and Tessa are fantastically portrayed as star-crossed lovers whose lives are worlds apart. Even those who are not fans of romance will enjoy the relationships, scenery, and beautiful prose of this book. Five stars!”

When Catherine Miller became a mum to twins, she decided her hands weren’t full enough so wrote a novel with every spare moment she managed to find. By the time the twins were two, Catherine had a two-book deal with Carina UK. There is a possibility she has aged remarkably in that time. Her debut novel, Waiting For You, came out in March 2016.

Since then she’s become an internationally bestselling novelist and hasn’t found a week that didn’t require revival by chocolate. She is one eighth of The Romaniacs – a group of writing friends who’ve supported each other since meeting through The Romantic Novelists’ Association’s New Writers’ Scheme.

Her latest novel is THE DAY I LOST HER/

Sarah's debut, Someone Else’s Skin won the Theakstons Crime Novel of the Year and was a World Book Night selection and a Richard & Judy Book Club pick. In the US, it was a Silver Falchion and Macavity Award finalist. No Other Darkness was shortlisted for a Barry Award.

She's a Programming Chair for St Hilda’s Crime Fiction Weekend in Oxford, and co-founder of Ledburied, a crime festival in her hometown of Ledbury.

As well as writing, she teaches crime fiction and mentors its rising stars. Her short stories have won the Cheshire Prize for Literature, the Fish Criminally Short Histories Prize, and the SENSE prize. She also loves hearing from and engaging with readers.

Her latest book, Black Thorn is out now from Pan Macmillan.

Ann Cleeves called it ‘immersive, claustrophobic, unbearably tense and quite brilliant’ while Liz Nugent said ‘an unforgettable read with the most sympathetic protagonist I’ve read in years’.

We had the pleasure of hosting the talented Stuart Robertson, also known as "Stuart" because, let's face it, "S.D." just sounds a bit odd on its own! 🤣

Stuart's journey to becoming a novelist is nothing short of inspiring. After spending nearly a decade as a journalist and even serving as a local newspaper editor, he decided to follow his lifelong dream of crafting captivating stories. And guess what? He was absolutely right—making up his own tales turned out to be an incredibly enjoyable adventure.

As an English graduate from the University of Manchester, Stuart's life has been filled with diverse experiences. He's worn many hats, including working as a holiday rep, a door-to-door salesman, a train cleaner, a kitchen porter, and even a mobile phone network engineer. But today, he's best known for his fantastic novels that transport readers into intriguing worlds.

Stuart currently resides in a charming village in the North West of England, where he shares his home with his loving wife, adorable daughter, and a mischievous cat (who you might catch a glimpse of in the picture below). This feline friend has a knack for diverting Stuart's attention from writing by, well, breaking things!

Aside from his passion for writing and storytelling, Stuart is an avid book enthusiast and considers himself a bit of a film buff. Don't be surprised if he confesses a soft spot for cheesy rom-coms! 🍿📺
